A Well of Inspiration
The Voices of African American Poetry collection is created by Ge'ylah Jones Allen, who is often referred to as "The Poetic Encyclopedia."
Ge'ylah has been a star in the world of dramatic readings and spoken word poetry since her mother encouraged her to recite poems before she could even read. She is a renowned performance poet, speech and dramatic arts educator, author, lecturer, and inspirational speaker.
Her one-woman powerhouse show, "The Power of the Tongue," is performed on college campuses to showcase the compelling and transformative works of powerful poems by African American poets; poems that move and inspire.
